The Public Health Team at Cambridgeshire County Council are looking for a Senior Public Health Manager – Older People to cover a period of work until 31st October 2019

The post holder will provide specialist public health advice to Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council on the prevention of ill health in older people and contribute public health expertise to the older people and ageing well agenda.

This role will include leading and project managing pieces of work to support the commissioning of health and social care for older people, including health improvement and community interventions. This is a varied role which will also provide support to deliver the actions for priority two of the Cambridgeshire Health and Well Being Strategy, to support older people to be independent safe and well, the Ageing Well priority of the Peterborough Health and Wellbeing Strategy, as well as implementation of the Better Care Fund and the Sustainability and Transformation Plan Ageing Well programmes.

A Master’s Degree in Public Health (or related subject) is essential for this role as is knowledge and understanding of cost-effective evidence relating to public health issues for older people and health inequalities; and experience of working with partners from local authorities, NHS and the voluntary and community sectors.
