The London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS) at Hammersmith Hospital is a core-funded MRC research institute and enjoys close links with its partners at Imperial College and at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The LMS research focuses on strengthening the basic science underpinning our understanding of human diseases and the translation of such high quality research into a clinical setting.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated metabolomics scientist to work within the LMS Biological Mass Spectrometry facility in order to establish metabolomics analysis methods and workflows, and apply them to address important biological and biomedical questions. This position is funded for three years in the first instance, and provides an excellent opportunity to work in collaboration with leading LMS research groups in the fields of genes and metabolism, epigenetics and integrative biology. Previous experience of working with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) equipment will be required and experience of working with large and complex data sets is highly desirable. A background in the targeted and untargeted analysis of cellular metabolites would be a distinct advantage. You must be willing to embark on scientific collaborations and develop and advance state-of-the-art metabolomics techniques.
