IT Services (ITS) provides the main development and support for IT related services to the University and is expanding its provision to match the growth in the University.  Working within the Programme Management Unit you will be expected to perform business systems analysis for strategic University process reviews in core business areas, recommend process improvement and the effective exploitation of suitable technology and to manage the implementation of process improvement projects.

You will be competent in analysing and documenting both current and new business processes through various techniques including interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, product and workflow analysis. With demonstrable experience in drawing up business cases and requirement specifications using diagrammatic representations where appropriate, you will be confident in presenting proposals to business process sponsors and stakeholders across the University Group.

Using your analytical skills, you will decompose high-level business and user requirements, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements. In addition, you will identify potential solution options, assess technical and business suitability, and draw up specific proposals for modified or replacement systems.

Preferably with expertise using and developing enterprise architecture, you will qualified to degree level or beyond, or have proven substantial experience in lieu of, which demonstrates a successful and professional approach to business systems analysis.  You must have relevant business experience and you will also be expected to have a thorough understanding of business and systems analysis techniques, have excellent planning and monitoring skills, and the ability to deliver presentations to senior staff with confidence and authority.  Knowledge of Six Sigma, PRINCE2, Archimate and of software tools for project management would be an advantage as would a formal qualification in business or systems analysis.
