Duties and Responsibilities

The Advice service is going through an exciting period of change. We have recently relaunched the service to provide high quality legal advice and support to students on academic issues, welfare benefits, housing and money problems.

The post-holder will provide competent legal advice and information to students using the Advice Service including casework support, representation and advocacy, identify policy and campaign issues affecting students using the service and work with the Advice & Advocacy Manager to raise awareness of the issues, work with students in line with the agreed Advice Service policies and procedures that support an independent, non-judgemental and confidential free service. 

Key Requirements

You will be an experienced adviser with experience of giving high quality legal advice and support to students on academic issues, welfare benefits, housing and money problems. You will have the ability to remain impartial and respect confidentiality as well as maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. You will be expected to possess excellent communication and skills and thrive in a dynamic environment. For our full requirements, please refer to the person specification and job description.
