Location: University Park

Salary: £29,799 to £47,722 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

An experience and dynamic Programme Manager or Project Manager/Programme Co-ordinator is sought to coordinate an exciting new EPSRC funded Programme Grant looking to investigate Next Generation Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) comprising of 9 Post Docs and 20 PhD students, involving three partner universities (Nottingham, Birmingham, Warwick) and eight industrial partners.

The Programme vision is to establish controlled next generation multi-functional, multi-material Additive Manufacturing and translate this to industry and researchers. Initially focusing on novel electronic and pharmaceutical/healthcare applications, the aim is to move beyond single materials contemporaneously for the delivery of spatially resolved function and structure in three dimensions (3D). The Programme will focus on overcoming the challenges of spatially controlled co-deposition of dissimilar materials in 3D and it will establish new understanding and methods of both modelling and controlling co-deposition.

The role holder will develop, manage and coordinate the research aspects of this high-profile Programme grant, and develop and implement the commercial strategy for the Programme, working very closely with the Programme Director and Programme Team. This extends to aiding in writing proposals to funding bodies and developing Statements of Work with academic and industrial partners, agreeing deliverables and timescales.

The role holder will also act as an ambassador for the university and the host research group in promoting research capability and promoting research collaborations.

The role holder will also be responsible for project management of research activities, overseeing the allocation of research and technical personnel and resources to reach deliverables. The role will also require elements of research to be undertaken to achieve deliverables within projects, including written reports encapsulating all aspects of work undertaken.

Other duties will include overall programme management, facilitating sandpits and ideas competitions, reporting to various Boards (including sponsors), engaging with partners and beneficiaries, managing an international exchange programme and monitoring and managing project finances.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, self-motivated, organised, and have a keen interest in interdisciplinary science based activities and be excited by the potential of additive manufacturing/3D printing technologies.

The successful candidate will be appointed to either role following interview based on skills, experience and knowledge. Please see attached Role Profile documents for exact specifications.

If you are appointed to the APM 4 level, the salary will be £29799 to £38833 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
