Role Description:

Our London training contract is a two-year program that gives you top-notch training and a range of experiences to ensure a successful start to your career as an English law qualified lawyer.  We will recruit our 2020 trainee intake from our summer 2018 vacation scheme participants.

Our vacation scheme offers a perfect introduction to a career in law and to Davis Polk. You’ll work on international transactions for some of our major clients, learn about our practice, culture and distinctive approach to client care.

During their two-year training contract with Davis Polk, trainees will undertake a number of rotations through our various practice areas, providing each trainee with the variety of experiences necessary to lay the foundation for a successful legal career.  Trainee Solicitors review documents, research areas of law, prepare documents and complete due diligence tasks.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate exceptional academic ability (this must be demonstrated across a candidate’s full academic history (i.e. GCSE – University level)) and have attained (or are on track to attain) a high 2.1 degree or better from a leading university for law.  Candidates should have exceptional attention to detail and be able to demonstrate a commitment to corporate law and qualification in the UK.  We welcome applications from both law and non-law students.  Please note we do not recruit on a rolling basis.

Salary: £50,000 per year (1st year trainee), £55,000 (2nd year trainee)
