Professor of Education

University of Bath - Education

Interview Date: Wednesday 21 February 2018

The Department of Education is a thriving and expanding department with an international reputation for teaching and for research that informs theory, policy and practice (www.bath.ac.uk/education).

In this most recent phase of the department’s development we seek to appoint, amongst other posts, a Professor of Education. Applicants are expected to be internationally leading in their field of expertise, and will be either established Professors, or Readers (Associate Professors) who can demonstrate a significant upward research trajectory. The post is intended to make a significant contribution to research capacity within the Department of Education, and the postholder will be expected to play a central role in one of the four research clusters (http://www.bath.ac.uk/education/research).

Applications will be particularly welcome from those with research interests related to the Learning, Pedagogy and Diversity research cluster (http://www.bath.ac.uk/education/research/learning-pedagogy-diversity/), although the appointment will be based on merit rather than specialism.

The postholder will make a contribution to research supervision and teaching capacity, principally at Doctoral (PhD and EdD) level. The post will take effect from 1 September 2018, or earlier.

Informal enquiries may be directed to Professor Mary Hayden, Head of Department of Education (tel: +44 1225 386347; email: m.c.hayden@bath.ac.uk).

Further details:

The University of Bath is an equal opportunities employer and has an excellent international reputation with staff from over 60 different nations. To achieve our global aspirations, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
