Teaching Fellow

Part Time: 14.6 hours per week (40% FTE)

The Department of Learning and Leadership is a large specialist research and teaching department of approximately 110 academic staff. The breadth of our work includes internationally renowned research, outstanding teaching and teacher training, and cutting edge consultancy and knowledge mobilisation.

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow for two years to assist with teaching, tutoring and assessment on the MA Early Years Education programmes. The work will entail contributing to teaching on the current modules, and to developing modules year-on-year. The role will involve working primarily on the online MA EYE, but will also include some work on the classroom-based programme. It will also entail contributing to the Dissertation module, and supporting individual students as they plan, conduct and write up their Masters dissertations.

The post is available immediately and is funded for two years in the first instance.

Educated to a Master's level with a degree relevant to early childhood education, the successful candidate will have higher education teaching experience at the postgraduate level. Candidates should have proven ability to supervise Masters Student dissertations, to explain education and international development concepts to home students from a range of backgrounds and disciplines, and to contribute to the broader management and administrative processes.

They will have written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills appropriate for teaching, supervision and collaborative work as well as knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research in the broader social sciences, history, economics and area studies. The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,635 - £41,864 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
