Inaugural Director of the Centre for Imaging Science

Loughborough University - School of Science

We are looking to appoint the Inaugural Director of the Centre for Imaging Science in the School of Science at Loughborough University.

The School of Science has extensive expertise and research activity across the field of imaging science ranging from the theoretical to the applied. A strategic decision has been taken to bring together this activity as a centre focused on imagining science. In addition to the Chair we are seeking to appoint here, the Centre will be the focus on considerable current and future investment, including immediate appointment of three academic posts ranging from the Lecturer to Reader levels. It is expected that the inaugural Director will strategically lead the recruitment to these posts. Staff in the Centre will teach in programmes of the School, which span across chemistry, computer science, mathematics and mathematics education, physics and the natural sciences more broadly.

This is an exciting time for the School as this Centre is created and we are looking for outstanding candidates to help with drive this important new strategic vision.

Informal enquiries should be made to Professor Mark Biggs, Dean of the School of Science at: or by telephone on +44 (0)1509 222600.

The closing date for applications is 23 February 2018 and interviews will be held on 23 March 2018.
