Disability Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a Disability Learning Support Assistant for a permanent contract to coordinate the administration of support given to disabled students and to be the main point of contact between the service, disabled students, staff supporting them and other support workers.  

The duties of the post include people facing responsibilities as well as working with systems and resources. The role involves being sensitive and responsive to different communication needs. The postholder will need to respond calmly, professionally, and in a way that maintains confidentiality, to students and staff facing sometimes complex situations. Experience working in a student support disabilities department and/or experience of working or volunteering in a disability related field and some awareness of equality legislation is essential to this role.

The postholder will be joining a dynamic team of 9 advisers at a time of development and modernisation of the service.

The University employs circa 2800 staff, located on four main sites within the West End of London and at Harrow. Although based in Central London, the postholder must be prepared to travel to Harrow on occasion, and may be required to work on other campuses in Central London.
