Product Design Manager

University of Reading - Henley Business School

With an outstanding international reputation, Henley Business School is one of the largest providers of business education in the world. Henley Business School was the first business school in the UK and is now among an elite group of business schools to be triple-accredited for the quality and capability of its faculty and output.

Following the arrival of a new Director Alumni & Development and a recent restructure, we are in a fantastic position to transform the way in which we are engaging with our international alumni community and to make a step-change by growing our fundraising activities. As part of the team’s new strategy, we have created a Product Design Team to work with both the Business School and the fundraising team to develop products and identify projects for which the fundraisers can seek support.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Working within the Product Design & Programme Delivery Team you will be responsible for the development and design of a suite of products and initiatives for which the Fundraising Team will secure funding.

Working closely with our key stakeholders, both internally within Henley Business School and the University of Reading, and externally with our many supporters including alumni, corporate and individual supporters and volunteers, this role will identify opportunities that can be jointly addressed to meet the overall strategy and goals of Henley Business School.

With overall guidance from the Head of Product Design and Programme Delivery, this role will work closely with the Programme Delivery team to ensure the viability and successful delivery of all initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop proactive relationships and work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders including academics in order to identify potential opportunities which can be developed into future products.
  • Assess all project/product ideas against agreed criteria to establish their viability (cost and impact) and relative importance to both Henley Business School and potential supporters.
  • Work closely with the Fundraising team to determine how attractive projects may be to potential supporters and to identify key targets (for funding) for each initiative.
  • Develop value propositions for each initiative that clearly articulate the impact of the initiative and relevance to potential funders.
  • Where relevant develop opportunities for volunteers to actively participate in Henley Business School activities to further enhance the relationship with supporters.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication, administrative and organizational skills, have excellent attention to detail and the ability to interact in a professional manner with people at all levels. You will join a highly motivated team who are focused on achieving results.
