Student Recruitment Manager

Do you have recent and demonstrable experience of overseeing, coordinating and completing projects and initiatives? Are you able to think creatively and involve others in devising processes and solutions that are both effective and efficient, and achieve set objectives?

The Centre for English and World Languages (CEWL) are looking to appoint to a full time maternity cover role as Student Recruitment Manager to play a key role in contributing to the Centre's student recruitment and marketing, and achievement of the University's Internationalisation Strategy.

As Student Recruitment Manager you will:

  • Support CEWL and the CEWL Director in reviewing, coordinating and implementing the Centre's Recruitment Strategy.
  • Manage and support the Centre's student recruitment initiatives.
  • Support the CEWL Director and management team in the development and review of published and online promotional materials.
  • Undertake national and international travel to represent CEWL and the wider University at promotional events and private visits to representatives and schools.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • An education to degree level (or equivalent qualification/experience)
  • Recent and demonstrable experience in coordinating and leading student recruitment initiatives
  • Knowledge of the international pathway sector and challenges posed in delivering such programmes in the UK Higher Education environment.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages.

The Centre for English and World Languages (CEWL) at the University of Kent specialises in the delivery of modules, programmes and short courses in English and a wide range of other major world languages. CEWL also offers a range of academic access routes into Higher Education under the brand of Kent International Pathways. It also coordinates the University’s overall Summer School provision and extracurricular Study Plus courses. Modes of study currently provide credit-bearing and non-credit-bearing language learning opportunities for both general and more applied academic purposes.

The Centre’s objectives already play a key role in the University’s internationalisation strategy by addressing the linguistic, academic and cultural needs of both home and international students.
