The Research and Knowledge Transfer Support (RKTS) department enables this mission by support for the University's research management procedures, by developing research-oriented strategic and project opportunities with company, public sector and other partners and in the commercialisation of University-owned intellectual property. 

To meet the challenge of an increasing volume of agreements and the complex legal framework in which this work is undertaken, the University seeks to recruit a motivated and experienced Contracts Manager. The post is based in the Research and Knowledge Transfer Support team (RKTS) and will also work closely with the Planning, Legal and Governance department. 

It is a demanding role with the successful applicant expected to work across the University and take responsibility for providing legal advice in support of contractual negotiations and the drafting and review of contracts with industrial, commercial and government sponsors of research and knowledge transfer. A detailed knowledge of contract law and intellectual property protection is essential.

The role is advertised as part time, 0.6 FTE. The University considers all staff requests for flexible working as a matter of policy, however, and will give due consideration to any candidates wishing to work more or less than 0.6 FTE.
