If you have enthusiasm when dealing with a diverse range of customers from students to University staff on a daily basis, are flexible regarding your hours of work and thrive on providing great customer service in a cafe, bar or commercial outlet then our role of Bar/Bistro Supervisor is for you.

We offer a 35 hour working week, a chance for overtime and time off over Christmas and the New Year.

As a Bar/Bistro Supervisor you will:

Have excellent customer service skills, experience of working in a Bar/Cafe and using tills. You must be enthusiastic regarding the role and duties.

Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in the supervision and delivery of an efficient and high quality bar/bistro service, undertaking all aspects of stock and cash control, assisting in the service of food and drink and working closely with kitchen colleagues to deliver a first-class dining experience.

Supervise casual staff daily, so supervisory experience is a must. You will also assist with their induction and operational training.

You will need to remain calm and efficient, even in times of extreme pressure, so customer service skills are essential.

The Department
Kent Hospitality provides housekeeping, catering, bar, reception, conference and events services.

The department manages student accommodation on the Canterbury and Medway campuses for over 6,500 students.
