Senior Campaign Manager

University of Southampton - Major Gift Fundraising

At the University of Southampton, alumni and supporters play a vital part in achieving our strategic ambitions. Following the close of our award-winning Cancer Immunology Campaign, we are now in the planning phase of a potential £100m comprehensive fundraising and engagement campaign. With excellent support from University leadership and a strong track-record of high-performance across the department, will you consider a career-defining opportunity and joining our hard-working, talented and friendly team?

You will be a natural relationship builder with the gravitas, skill and confidence to network and negotiate effectively at senior levels within and outside the University. You will build networks and relationships in other departments and externally to ensure activities and opportunities are maximised and joined up and ultimately contribute to the University’s strategic plan.

You will work across Development and Alumni and be a key member of our management team. You will work with colleagues across all departments and faculties, engaging staff to develop the campaign case for support and fundraising priority propositions. You will develop and deliver the campaign management plan, oversee all campaign policies and procedures, events and communications, service key campaign groups and work closely with the senior leadership team in Development and Alumni to ensure accountability to campaign targets and objectives.

Under the leadership of Director Jo Donahoe, ODAR (Office of Development and Alumni Relations) who is responsible for the University’s external engagement and fundraising programmes. We provide leadership direction for all volunteering and philanthropic giving, raising income from individuals, trusts, foundations and companies to support the advancement of the University and our 10-year strategy. We launched our first fundraising campaign for a new Centre for Cancer Immunology in Spring 2015 and are on track to close in Spring 2018. The Centre will be the first of its kind in the UK and among an elite group world-wide.

Just over an hour outside London in a beautiful leafy location, surrounded by sea and forest, the University of Southampton ranks among the UK’s top 15 research-intensive universities. Through education and research, innovation and enterprise, we unlock potential and provide opportunities that transform the lives of our students, our community, society and the economy.

We encourage informal discussions about the role if this will inspire you to apply – so please contact Jo Donahoe, Director on 023 8059 9483 or by email J.Donahoe@southampton.ac.uk.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on either 23 or 24 January 2018.

Please note: The University will be closed from Friday 22 December 2017 to Wednesday 3 January 2018, so we will not be able to assist you with any application queries during this time.
