Research Fellow in Intelligent Systems/the Internet-of-Things

BT Ireland Innovation Centre (BTIIC) in partnership with Ulster University is at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things and Telecommunications. Costing an estimated £28.6 million, it will receive £9 million of funding from Invest Northern Ireland over the first five years.

The new Research and Engineering Centre of Excellence will see BT and Ulster University jointly invest over £7 million in a research programme, with a view to creating 25 new research opportunities.  During the lifetime of the project these researchers will work with BT Adastral Park Research Laboratories in Martlesham, Suffolk alongside BT Belfast Global Development Centre and there also may be opportunities to undertake an internship with BT.

We wish to recruit to the following key position:

Research Fellow in Intelligent Systems/The Internet-of-Things

Salary: £41,211 - £45,017

The postholder will take a lead in research and development on Intelligent Systems/ Internet-of-Things to enhance current tools and protocols with particular focus on key aspects, namely: an end-to-end IoT management framework to help mitigate complex vulnerabilities; situation assessment through IoT; trusting IoT for automated decision support; novel cryptographic solutions for IoT; future IoT security technologies and ultra-resilient 5G communications.

All of the advertised positions are fixed term for three years, with prospect of further extension.

All posts are initially based at the Jordanstown campus.
