Communications and Engagement Manager

The salary will be paid at Grade7, £41, 212 - £49, 149  per annum, plus  £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

The post will be on a Fixed Term Contract till 31st March 2022

This is a Full-time (35 hours per week) post

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and creative individual with a passion for science communication and experience of working with senior management and in health care

Our Communications and Engagement Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy to promote the work of the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre and joint R&D Office at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. The post will engage key stakeholder groups including staff across the King’s Health Partners Academic Health Science Centre, NIHR and Department of Health, policy makers, patients and the public and the wider UK life sciences community including industry.

You will be passionate about science and able to translate scientific research into engaging communications for a variety of audiences. We are looking for an excellent all-rounder for this challenging and varied post which also includes elements of media and digital management. This post requires a flair for building relationships, influencing others, organisation, diplomacy and outstanding communications skills. You will be highly motivated and able to juggle a number of competing priorities under pressure to tight deadlines. 

The selection process will include a panel interview, a written assessment and an oral assessment.

Interviews are scheduled to be held on Thursday 18th January 2018.
