Assistant Director – Research Operations

Research Services forms part of UCL’s Finance & Business Affairs Division, and is responsible for the end-to-end administration of the university’s growing research funding portfolio (16/17 research volume ~ £450m).

The Assistant Director for Research Operations will play a pivotal leadership role within Research Services, with specific responsibility for the advancement of the underpinning research management infrastructure (policies, processes, systems) in support of UCL’s strategic objectives. This new and exciting role, will demand close and pro-active working relationships with a range of senior administrative officers and academic staff.

You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and operational experience of end-to-end research administrative procedures and practice; in-depth sector knowledge; and direct experience of leading a research support function. You will also be able to evidence successful leadership of service change programmes delivering IT and business process improvements.

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 9. The salary range will be £55,163 - £59,981 per annum , inclusive of London Allowance.
