Personal Assistant in DIL

Applications are invited for a Personal Assistant in DIL to provide high-level personal and administrative support to the JDRF/Wellcome Diabetes and Inflammation Laboratory at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics. This is a responsible, demanding and pivotal position, critical to the success of the programme.

You will ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the office, including diary management, meeting coordination and interfacing with internal and external contacts. You will create, manage and develop systems that fully support the administration of the office. This includes operational support (enquiry management, expense claims, travel and logistical support for the research group as well as national and international visitors, filing and archiving) and communication support (drafting, editing, proofreading documents).

You will be educated to A Level or equivalent (including GCSE Mathematics and English to grade C or above) and be highly motivated to provide proactive support to a very high standard. You will have considerable previous PA experience at a senior level, or similar, with a track record in supporting a complex, dynamic enterprise. You will be highly competent in office IT systems, along with an ability to deal with changing office technologies. You will have a high standard of literacy and be highly competent in drafting correspondence, including dictation.

The position will be available for 3 years in the first instance and is funded by the Wellcome.
