The Faculty of Science and Technology is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to undertake a significant role in the delivery of high-quality outputs for the Research Excellence Framework and contribute to the writing of applications for prestigious research funding. This is an opportunity for a competent researcher to undertake work to join our research time and collaborate with us in the area of Computer Science & Informatics.

You will plan, develop and engage in the high-quality research projects underway by embedding your research expertise into the life of the Faculty. You will review our body of research to identify opportunities for academic publishing, the dissemination of research findings, and future research funding. You will then work with staff in the Department of Computing and Informatics as well as the Department of Creative Technologies to produce high-quality peer reviewed outputs for publication and support the development and submission of external research funding proposals. You will undertake internal peer review of draft outputs for academic colleagues and provide input and advice for publications. You will contribute to Bournemouth University’s reputation as a vibrant Centre for Computing Science and Informatics.

You will have demonstrable research experience with excellence demonstrated through strong publications in top venues in some areas of Computer Science. You will have a good understanding of various areas of Computer Science and Informatics, have contributed to proposal writing, and have successfully participated in running projects. You will need to be self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative as well as in a team. Also you will need highly developed communication skills and be able to work under pressure.

The post is available on a 24-month fixed term contract basis.
