The salary will be paid at Grade 8, £50,618 to £58,655 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

We are looking to recruit an experienced professional to act as Operations Manager for our new PET isotope production facility (the PERL).

The new cyclotron and radiochemistry facility (the PERL) at KCL/NHS Trust St Thomas’ Campus, London has the following remit: 1) production of GMP radiotracers for research and clinical use; 2) the discovery and development of new radiochemistries, labelling methodologies and 3) implementation of new PET radiotracers.

The post holder will be responsible for the operational and logistical management of the PERL to achieve this remit. This key role includes: developing and maintaining facility maintenance schedules; liaising with Trust and College service teams, equipment manufacturers and service suppliers, and service engineers; management of production, training, and tracer implementation to schedules agreed with Management and within financial and human resource constraints; resource management and providing support to the PERL staff to ensure the smooth operation of the PERL facility in compliance with applicable regulatory governance (e.g. MHRA, Health and Safety, Environmental Safety).

The postholder will be expected to take an active role in the planning and implementation of the new PET radiochemistry laboratories as well as maintaining activities at the existing PET chemistry facilities.
