Research Fellow in Health Economics (79181-127)

University of Warwick

Fixed Term Contract: 3 years in the first instance

Following considerable success in the award of new research funding in the area of health economics, we are seeking to appoint to a new position at Research Fellow grade. You will join the Warwick Clinical Trials Unit (WCTU) and work closely with clinicians based at Warwick Medical School and the local University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire National Health Service Trust to develop and conduct innovative trials and observational studies that are framed by economic objectives. The early focus will be on the development and conduct of innovative studies in reproductive medicine, but diversification into other clinical areas is likely during the course of the appointment.

You will be encouraged to participate more broadly in the WCTU’s portfolio of health economics research and teaching activities. Training will be provided to develop skills to undertake high quality applied and methodological research across a number of different study designs.

You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in health economics or a related discipline. A proven interest in conducting economic evaluations is essential as is some experience of using statistical software (e.g. SPSS, STATA or SAS), coupled with the ability and potential to produce high quality health economics research relevant to the health sciences.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,936 pa). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,799 pa)

This post is also being advertised as a Senior Research Fellow, with one appointment to be made.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should initially be directed to Professor Stavros Petrou, S.Petrou@warwick.ac.uk or 0044 2476 151124.

Closing date: 15 January 2018

Interview date: 29 January 2018
