Equality and Diversity Adviser

Contract Type: Full-time (fractional, 4 days per week would be considered)

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team. As Equality and Diversity Adviser, you will co-ordinate our Race Equality Charter work and support the delivery of our full equality charter agenda including delivery of action plans for both the Race Equality Charter and Athena SWAN.  Both charters aim to drive forward the cultural and systemic changes needed within the Higher Education sector and are focussed on outcomes which will have a significant impact on the lives of our staff and students.

You will have excellent interpersonal and analytical skills and be responsible for the provision of management information, data analyses and policy reports to inform diversity related decision making and planning.  You will provide advice and guidance and influence key stakeholders to ensure that equality and diversity is embedded within University culture, policy and practice.

Reporting to the Equality and Diversity Manager, you will support the wider equality and diversity agenda at the University including co-ordination of the in-house mediation and dignity and respect services, delivery of equality and diversity training and support for an annual programme of diversity related events.

You will be knowledgeable and passionate about equality and diversity, particularly Race and ethnicity and you will be able to work across functions and teams influencing our equality agenda for staff and for students.  Previous project management experience is essential to manage projects from initiation to completion and you must have the requisite IT skills to produce, analyse, interpret and present complex data and information.
