Said Business School is seeking a senior practitioner with extensive banking or finance sector experience and the potential for teaching excellence to lead the Oxford Saïd Finance Lab through its next phase of development.

The Finance Lab Director will have overall responsibility for the ongoing successful delivery of the Finance Lab, a world-class training programme to prepare graduate students for careers in the highly competitive financial services sector. Responsibilities will include planning, designing and staffing the modules; developing and maintaining institutional relationships; ensuring high level engagement by the finance faculty; and driving continuous improvement through the programme in response to student and employer feedback and placement statistics. The postholder will be expected to contribute teaching in relevant areas and in particular to lead on the teaching of the financial modelling course.

The successful candidate will have extensive relevant experience as a practitioner in banking or finance at senior associate, vice president, or similar level; an undergraduate degree; excellent leadership skills including the ability to manage a complex set of relationships and diverse stakeholders; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders; credibility and standing within the professional financial sector and the ability to maintain and extend the Finance Lab’s existing networks; excellent organisational skills; resource and time management; the ability to lead on the development and delivery of teaching modules; a commitment to delivering outstanding and innovative teaching;  the presence and authority to deliver teaching effectively in the graduate classroom; ability to contribute to the wider leadership profile of the school and act as a school ambassador. Experience of teaching in a graduate classroom is de  sirable.
