Strategic Financial Planning Manager

University of Cambridge - Finance Division

We are looking to appoint a Strategic Financial Planning Manager to join the Academic and Financial Planning & Analysis (AFPA) section of the Finance Division.  AFPA is responsible for sustaining the University's leading position by enabling effective planning, the management and allocation of resources and the provision of financial reporting and analysis. AFPA provides support for strategic decisions with a direct influence on the University's financial sustainability, its continuing development and future shape and size (total turnover exceeds £1.2bn). 

The successful applicant will provide financial analysis, support and strategic advice to the Chief Financial Officer and the Head of Academic Planning. The main responsibilities include forecasting and managing the funding arrangements for the University's Capital Plan and Capital Fund, providing strategic analytical support to the Head of Academic Planning for the University's Planning Round, developing and maintaining the long-term University Financial Model and providing financial analytical and project support to the Chief Financial Officer.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication, analytical and financial modelling skills and be able to present and explain financial information to senior non-finance professionals.  You will be a qualified accountant and have experience of strategic planning within a large organisation. A strong team player, you will have the maturity and integrity to influence and impact at the highest levels.
