Senior Lecturer – Programme Lead (Engineering and Entrepreneurship)

University of Exeter is currently looking for a senior engineer to play a leading role in launching a pioneering programme, in conjunction with the Exeter Business School, to develop and enhance the entrepreneurial spirit within our Engineering students. You will join a directorate that is at the forefront of some of the most exciting, ground-breaking and important research being conducted to evolve and develop the Engineering industry. We encourage proactive engagement with industry, business and community partners to enhance the impact of research and education and improve the employability of our students.

The Exeter Boyden Entrepreneurial Student Programme (Exeter BESt) will trail-blaze a new approach to entrepreneurship which will help mobilise an institution-wide transformation in all our faculties’ approaches to entrepreneurship education.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior engineer with a degree or equivalent in Engineering and significant experience, who is looking for a new challenge to innovate our approach to entrepreneurship education.

You will take responsibility for teaching entrepreneurship and innovation to undergraduate and postgraduate students and proactively develop links with the entrepreneurial community.

Responsible for leading and managing the delivery of the Exeter Boyden Entrepreneurial Student Programme (Exeter BESt), being launched in September 2018. You will take responsibility for the design, development and production of teaching and learning material, support facilities and delivery either across a range of modules or within a subject area working in collaboration with the University’s Business School, Engineering Entrepreneurs and Industry leaders.

About you

As Senior Lecturer – Programme Lead, you will:

  • Have a passion for Engineering, with entrepreneurial vision.
  • Be able to lead, inspire and challenge students and other stakeholders.
  • Be proactive in developing partnerships with enterprise/external stakeholders.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the engineering sector, with experience of start-ups and/or of running your own business.
  • Have dynamism and enthusiasm for developing and delivering educational programmes particularly through innovative methods.
