Associate Professor / LME Midwifery

Due to the current post holder taking up an exciting post overseas, an opportunity has arisen for the appointment of an Associate Professor/LME in Midwifery at London South Bank University. The post holder will join an excellent and dynamic midwifery team specifically providing direction, research leadership and management in Midwifery education.

The post-holder will be responsible for the academic leadership of our Midwifery education provision, they will support the development of staff and students to a positive student experience and they will further develop the department's research culture. 

In addition to demonstrating a track record in Midwifery and education as well as managing and delivering on curriculum development, the post holder will display a capability to mentor and support others to achieve the same.

The successful candidate will also support the Head of Department in the identification of the strategic direction for the development of Midwifery education and research within the Adult and Midwifery department.

We are therefore seeking to recruit an experienced midwife and educator to take up this challenging post. The successful candidate will join a team committed to enhancing the healthcare workforce with providers across London, Essex and the south East with the aim of transforming services for the benefit of patients and their families. The successful candidate will be dynamic, adaptable and innovative and have excellent communication skills.

In addition, the successful candidate will work closely with the Head of the Department and the Associate Professor for Midwifery research to identify key Midwifery research themes and funding opportunities in order to promote and develop Midwifery both nationally and internationally.
