Description of Duties

The successful candidate will work across the H2020 project Monocle. This project is focused on the development, testing and commercialization of novel in situ sensors for water quality monitoring and satellite validation. The successful PDRA will be responsible for the planning, implementation and execution of laboratory- and field-based experiments to test, inter-compare and evaluate novel new sensors for in situ measurements of water quality and atmospheric properties for satellite validation. In addition, the PDRA will support the development of the Limnades database for the management, quality control and sharing of in situ data for satellite validation.

The Stirling team are involved in a number funded research programmes and there may also be opportunities for the successful candidates to contribute to other projects (e.g. NERC GloboLakes www.globolakes.ac.uk, Danubius http://www.danubius-ri.eu, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate project students in the field and laboratory and contribute to and lead on applications for new research funding and fellowships.
