The Deputy Director of Principal Gifts will be responsible for leading an ambitious fundraising strategy, working closely with the Director of Principal Gifts and other senior staff across the University in managing and developing a portfolio of Principal prospects and a list of strategic initiatives for funding.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Director of Principal Gifts and executing a Principal- level fundraising strategy in addition to working with the President, Vice President of Advancement and other senior staff across the University.
  • Working closely with senior academic and administrative staff to bring both existing and prospective donors to a philanthropic commitment.
  • Preparing and managing reports, for cultivation and stewarding purposes and articulating the case for support in compelling language to express the importance of College initiatives.


  • Clear track record of professional fundraising in the higher education or not-for-profit sector with strong experience of major or principal gift fundraising at a high six or seven-figure level.
  • Ability to be creative and strategic in identifying new opportunities for developing the fundraising programme with a collaborative approach.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing multiple projects, working successfully individually and within a high performing team with first class relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills.
