This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with experience of working within Higher Education in an event delivery role or a related field. As part of the Events and Enquiries team, you will; support the work of the Senior Events Officer in developing, planning and delivering all recruitment events for the university, including general open and applicant visit days. The role is responsible for development and implementation of recruitment events, including the delivery of the University’s yearly Clearing operation, and requires a good understanding of the HE recruitment sector and a keen interest in consistently striving for improvement. The role includes weekend working and, on occasions, delivery throughout the UK particularly in relation to recruitment exhibitions such as UCAS conventions.

The role requires excellent organisation and interpersonal skills including the ability to build strong internal and external relationships, the ability to communicate clearly and concisely across a diverse set of audiences, accurate and timely numerical reporting skills and excellent problem solving and initiative. The chosen candidate will be able to liaise with staff and develop good working relationships at all levels within the University, ensuring that the varying requirements for each of our academic schools are considered and expectations proactively managed. They will also be able to provide an efficient and professional service to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the reputation of the university and the Events and Enquiries team is upheld.

Qualified to degree level (or equivalent), you will ideally have knowledge of the Higher education sector, with a particular focus on planning and delivery of events, and essential customer service skills. You combine excellent administrative and communication skills (including report-writing, effective email communication and developing written marketing communications) with appropriate knowledge of IT systems and packages.
