Continuing its substantial investment in the Newcastle University Business School with the appointment of a new Director, Professor Sharon Mavin and a strategy to develop world leading reputation in the Future of Work and Leading on Leadership.

We are seeking to appoint a Director of Research and Professor of Management / Marketing / Economics / Accounting and Finance, that will develop, lead and deliver an ambitious research strategy that enables world-class subject and interdisciplinary/multi-disciplinary research which contributes to society, organisations and the economy.

The successful applicant will provide inspirational academic leadership to deliver a strategy which engages colleagues across the Business School to deliver research with impact and relevance, engaging with world-class research across the University and through national and global research collaborations. This will include coordinating the School’s REF submission and contributing to submissions to accrediting bodies.

Applicants for this post should hold a PhD in a relevant subject and have a record of excellence in research. The appointee will have a substantial national/international academic reputation and experience of successful leadership and management of collaborative research, academics and research related activities, and will join a vibrant research community, making a full contribution to the Business School and academic staff’s wider ambitions.
