Postdoctoral Scientist - Protein Biochemistry and Structural Biology

University of Oxford - NDM Research Building

Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford

The chemical biology team is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist in Protein Biochemistry and Structural Biology, with extensive experience in protein purification, biophysical characterisation of protein ligand interaction, functional assay development as well as crystallisation and structure determination of proteins. The SGC’s chemical biology project aims to develop highly specific and potent chemical tool molecules that can be used to study the function of key signalling proteins in cellular systems as well as in the development of disease.

The project milestones are very ambitious and you will have to be a self-motivated, skilful scientist in order to make a strong contribution to the project. Experience in preclinical drug development would be beneficial but is not a requirement.

You will have a PhD in protein biochemistry and structural biology with an excellent academic track record, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. In addition you will have substantial proven experience in protein biochemistry and/or structural biology. You will work in a multidisciplinary team and strong communication skills will be therefore required.

This full-time position is available for a fixed-term until 29 February 2020.

Further particulars, including details of how to apply, can be obtained from the document below. Applications for this vacancy should be made online and you will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your application.  This position is available immediately but with a start date no later than 1 May 2018.

The closing date for this position will be 12.00 noon on Friday 19 January 2018.
