Research Associate

University of Kent - Kent Business School

Kent Business School (KBS) is seeking to appoint a postdoctoral Research Associate to be based at our Medway Campus.

We are looking for an early career scholar who is keen to make a strong contribution to our internationally recognised research programme in open innovation. The successful applicant will have demonstrated the ability to conduct research through the successful completion of a doctoral thesis at a reputable institution and ideally have published a job-market paper in a highly rated journal. The School offers the post holder a collegial work environment as well as a competitive salary and research support fund.

As Research Associate you will:

  • Engage in individual and collaborative research and scholarship leading to high-quality publications at acceptable levels of volume and academic excellence, develop income from research, enterprise, or corporate engagement individually or in collaboration with others.
  • Contribute fully to the School and University by participating in meetings, working groups, committees and other School and University activities.
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, demand-driven and student-centred taught programmes as part of one’s career development.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • PhD (or equivalent) in relevant area or near completion.
  • Specific knowledge in the advertised subject area – open innovation, in crowdsourcing and co-creation models.
  • Ability to generate high-quality research output, as evidenced through a published job market paper or manuscript under review.
