Summary of Job Purpose and Principal Duties

External Relations at the University of Dundee supports and enhances the University’s reputation by managing a range of activities in order to attract students, staff and funding for the university. Our teams include Development and Alumni Relations (DARO), Marketing, Corporate Communications, Web Services, Creative Services, Public Engagement and Major Events, Enquirer and Applicant Communications, Global Engagement and Recruitment and Admissions and Applicant Experience.

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual for the post of DARO Manager. The DARO team includes Development, Trusts and Foundations, Alumni Relations and Development Services. You will report to and work closely with the Head of DARO, you will have personal responsibility for the cultivation and solicitation of large gifts from individuals, institutional funders and corporates in order to meet an agreed personal fundraising target and to record activity according to established systems and procedures. In addition the DARO manager will provide strategic support both locally and globally to the alumni relations function. It is expected that the DARO Manager will work closely with colleagues across the External Relations directorate and more widely within schools and the other professional services.
