This is an exciting opportunity to join a cross-disciplinary team at The University of Liverpool working on the development and translation of novel optical coherence tomography (OCT) from bench to bedside. You will be based in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics but work closely with colleagues in the Department of Eye and Vision Science in the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease, clinicians at St. Paul's Eye Unit in The Royal Liverpool University Hospital, researchers at Bangor University, industry and, public and patient support groups.

You will be required to undertake research in the hardware development and evaluation in order to achieve the translation of the clinical OCT prototype into clinical practice. Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, for example, optics, physics, computer science, and electrical engineering. Relevant knowledge and practical experience of OCT is essential. Personal attributes such as excellent communication, verbal and in writing, excellent time management skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team will also be essential to this project. You will be expected to be flexible and responsive to the changing challenges associated with this role. Candidates should be focused on achieving goals and work well with minimal supervision.
