Simons Initiative Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The University of Edinburgh

Line Manager: Matthew Nolan

Applications are invited for a full-time Simons Initiative Post-doctoral Research Fellow within the new Simons Initiative for the Developing Brain and the Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. You will contribute to the development of a programme of research investigating neuronal population codes in mouse models of autism. The post will focus on using miniscope technologies to image neuronal population dynamics during spatial behaviours. It is expected that the successful applicants will have experience in optical or electrophysiological methods for recording neuronal activity, or will have expertise in data analysis and a strong motivation to become expert in optical recording approaches. The successful applicant will have access to state-of-the-art tools and resources for imaging and data analysis, and will be part of a collaboration between several research groups investigating neural circuitry in health and disease.

This post is full-time. Start date is from the beginning of March or as soon as possible thereafter.

Informal enquiries to: Gülsen Sürmeli (gulsensurmeli@gmail.com) or Matt Nolan (mattnolan@ed.ac.uk).
