We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Research Support and Development office as part of our contracts and intellectual property team. The team is responsible for a wide range of research and collaboration agreements with external bodies. The team is also responsible for the management of the University’s intellectual property portfolio and the active support of consultancy and new business opportunities.

As part of the role you will be required to review, draft and negotiate research contracts and collaboration agreements ensuring that the academic and commercial interests of the University are protected and contractual obligations can be met. You will also contribute to the administration and post-award processing of successful grants and contracts and liaise and communicate with other RSDO staff and relevant University administration departments to provide an effective research contract administration/management service.

The successful candidate will have a first degree in law or a related area or equivalent. You will have previous experience of contract drafting, negotiation & management, in academic or industrial R&D context, and in contract administration. A good working knowledge of contract and Intellectual property law are also essential.

You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines under pressure. Self-motivation and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team are also required.
