A Postdoctoral Training Fellow position is available to support our Teams at the Breast Cancer Research Centre with genome engineering. This position will be under the supervision of Prof. Pascal Meier. The successful candidate will need to be skilled in gene targeting/genome engineering/gene editing, vector design and cloning as well as lentiviral work. This is a facilitator position for a genome engineer, enabling scientists at the Breast Cancer Research Centre to conduct cutting edge research. An important aspect of the work will be the implementation, improvement and development of new methods of genome engineering and their applications for cancer research. The candidate should have excellent skills in molecular biology techniques, RNA interference, CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene engineering and lentiviral work. An excellent knowledge of tissue culture techniques is essential. Knowledge of screening methods (PCR-based, microscopy and others) are desirable.

You will have the opportunity to interact within a multidisciplinary environment of molecular biologists, clinicians, computer scientists and a network of international collaborators. The successful candidate will assist the Teams with functional genomics to validate and test hypothesis that will arise out of clinical or high-throughput omics data sets. Good communication and organisational skills are essential.

Appointment will be on a Fixed Term Contract for 2 years at our London site. The full salary scale for the post is in the range from £30,410 to £43,463 p.a. inclusive. Starting salary will be based on previous postdoctoral experience.
