The successful candidate will be key member in a busy office providing professional support to senior colleagues and a service to diverse users across the University. You will be committed to providing excellent service to the highest standards. You will understand the value of information and systems in supporting procurement activity within the University.

The role requires a basic understanding of tendering, supplier engagement, sound administrative skills and strong interpersonal abilities. You will be a good communicator and ‘people person’, well organized and IT literate. You will be expected to work within the University’s Financial Regulations, Procedures and Purchasing Policy. You should understand the role of procurement in delivering value, managing risk and supporting colleagues to do this.

You will be responsible for supporting and assisting colleagues by ensuring that systems are effective and efficient. Understanding data and the ability to present this to support procurement activity are vital. You will be proactive in analyzing information across the office, ensuring that systems and information effectively contribute towards the University’s core goals of world class research, outstanding student experience and social responsibility.

You will be able to work with minimum supervision, whilst also being an effective team member, organized, accurate, numerate and familiar with finance systems. You will possess a detailed working knowledge and experience of the MS Office suite including advanced ability with Excel, Access and Visio.
