To support this aim, we are looking for an additional Business Engagement Partner (BEP) to work in our College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. This key management role will support the co-ordination and delivery of the National Centre for Nuclear Robotics (NCNR) a consortium of 8 universities led by the University of Birmingham. This internationally-leading centre of excellence focused on the development and deployment of robotics in nuclear applications is one of the UK Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Hubs funded by EPSRC as part of the UK Government Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund investment. Working in collaboration with seven other UK universities and other national and international research institutions NCNR is a £42 million investment creating new commercial opportunities for the UK economy. The NCNR – RAI Hub will achieve this by:

  1. Developing new technologies and products based on end user needs;
  2. Demonstrating their applications and advantages on a national and international stage;
  3. Develop nuclear roboticists who will support this emerging market place.

You will either be currently working in a business development role for another University and looking for a move to an ambitious and growing team, or alternatively may be in a commercial senior account management, business development, or fundraising role, ideally with experience of the nuclear sector and/or robotics and artificial intelligence. You will have an enthusiasm for people, the skill to interact with high-level corporate professionals and academics, experience of delivering against KPIs and KPTs, along with the ability to passionately translate complex information into a compelling case for support in both verbal and written form.

Starting salary is normally in the range £39,993 TO £47,722, with potential progression to £53,690
