As a Lecturer in Anatomy and Physiology you will have an academic background appropriate to research-informed medical science education and the ability and passion to teach from foundation level up to masters level. You will be a confident and experienced teacher who can contribute a range of biology topics to our programmes that will include areas relating to integrated learning about body systems that include anatomy and physiology in the context of medical education. You will have an interest in simulation, and help us further develop our Life Sciences Simulation centre, that includes Anatomage, Digital Autopsy, Digital Pathology and an iSTAN patient simulator.Your primary contribution will be to the Clinical Sciences BSc. You will work with colleagues to ensure excellent delivery of learning, teaching, assessment and student support and keen to make a significant contribution to developing new course provision.

You will have or be developing a research track record as demonstrated by publications and have clear plans to secure external research funding to realise your own and the school’s potential. Your research interests will align with one of our five areas: Education Innovation Research and Development, Medicines Optimisation, Medicines Development and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cancer Therapeutics or Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics.We particularly welcome applicants with a research interest in Digital Health applications, who can work with colleagues in the cross faculty Digital Health Enterprise Zone (Academic).

You will have a commitment to our widening participation agenda to enable all students to achieve their potential. Our Clinical Sciences BSc is a 4-year programme, with around 350 students and attracts students from a range of backgrounds. The Foundation Year includes a widening access route for Medical School entry and the first year currently maps onto the Leeds medical undergraduate curriculum.Currently some students transfer onto the Leeds Medical Programme while the majority continue the Clinical Sciences programme to graduation.
