We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Fellow, who will be involved in a research project titled “Phenotyping young-onset diabetes” (Lead PI: Dr Shivani Misra, Co-Supervisor Professor Nick Oliver).

The research project will be undertaken in the clinical diabetes research group, and will entail experimental work in addition to data analysis and reporting the results in peer-reviewed journals.

The clinical diabetes research group has active research in phenotyping and classifying diabetes, diabetes diagnostics and biomarkers used in diabetes. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to engage with these additional programmes.

This EU-funded post is an excellent opportunity for an individual with an interest in a clinical research career and you would be expected to register for a higher degree. You must be able to demonstrate previous experience in clinical diabetes.

The post holder will also be required to fulfil clinical type 1 diabetes and monogenic diabetes clinical commitments within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. A degree in medicine (MBBS or equivalent), a full General Medical Council registration and MRCP are essential. A national training number (NTN) in diabetes and endocrinology is also required. Proven experience in an acute hospital setting is required.
