An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic clinician to work with world-leading musculoskeletal researchers at the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine.

This post offers an opportunity to develop research skills and clinical experience in Rheumatology, with potential to undertake a clinical research degree subject to availability of further funding. Responsible to Professor Philip Conaghan and Dr Sarah Kingsbury, you will support existing and new clinical research in common non-inflammatory musculoskeletal disease (including osteoarthritis) that have a major impact on the community and manage patients involved in clinical studies. You will work with Professor Conaghan on the management of research projects, helping with publications and liaison with research support staff. You will be working with key team members across the Institute and you will be integral to the success of the wider portfolio of research projects in musculoskeletal clinical research. 

You will be medically qualified and have completed Foundation training or equivalent. You will have current GMC registration. Previous experience working within a research setting as well as some clinical experience in a Rheumatology field is desirable. Candidates with an interest in undertaking a clinical research degree are encouraged to apply. 

The position is available for a fixed term of one year in the first instance and will be based at Chapel Allerton Hospital. Extension beyond one year is subject to further funding being available to support the post.
