The School of Geography at the University of Nottingham is committed to being a globally leading centre for the creation, dissemination, and application of geographical knowledge and understanding. As part of this commitment, the School is delighted to announce a post for an Assistant Professor (Teaching and Learning level). Applications from appropriately qualified candidates are welcomed across the following broad areas: 

  • Environmental Humanities
  • Medical/Health Geography
  • Urban Economy and Consumption
  • The Digital Economy and Big Data
  • Climate Risk
  • Geomorphology
  • Sustainability Science
  • Environmental Decision-Making and Stewardship

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching at all levels within the School, including lectures, tutorials and the supervision of dissertations and project work. 

Applicants must have a PhD in any area of Geography or a related area. Applicants should have teaching experience and expertise appropriate to their career stage at undergraduate and taught postgraduate level.  

The School of Geography at Nottingham has one of the strongest groups of Geographers in the UK, with an international reputation for theoretically informed and empirically grounded research. The School is based within the Faculty of Social Sciences.  

This is a full-time, fixed-term post and is available from 1 September 2018 until 31 January 2020. The post is open to job share.
