Finance & Course Administrator

We are seeking a full-time Finance & Course Administrator to join our busy Operations Team. The Operations Team plays a key role in providing administrative support to the main areas of the Skills Centre’s work including our co-curricular academic skills programme and English language proficiency for international students. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of financial processing in the Centre, using the University’s finance system. S/he will also work alongside the Pre-sessional Course Administrator, and wider administrative team, to carry out admissions processing for the Centre in addition to providing wide and varied support, as required, for the full range of the Centre’s activities, particularly supporting our Writing Centre and Mathematics and Statistics advice service providing direct support to our student community. The post-holder will report to the Operations Manager.

Candidates for this post should have relevant experience from IT-intensive administrative posts. A high level of IT skills (Microsoft Office packages such as Word and Excel) as well as experience with databases is essential. The role requires a well-organised, motivated and conscientious candidate with high levels of attention to detail to ensure the maintenance of accurate records and systems, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience of delivering first-class, high quality customer service. You will need to be confident at working independently, but also be a strong team player, able to work well under pressure at all times.

The successful candidate will be working in a busy and lively office in a fast-developing Centre. Training and development will be provided, where appropriate.
