International Recruitment Officer for the Middle East and Africa based in Dubai

Heriot-Watt University - Student Recruitment

As part of the University's international recruitment strategy, the Student Recruitment Service seeks to appoint an International Recruitment Officer who will develop Heriot-Watt's profile and market share in the Middle East and Africa. The post will be predominantly focused on the markets of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Nigeria & Ghana, but will also cover the wider Middle East & Africa region as opportunities arise.

These international markets have formed a large proportion of the international students at the UK campus over several years as well as in Dubai. More recently the University has seen growing interest in these markets for our Malaysia campus.

The role will be based at the University’s Dubai campus, giving close access to all key markets but will represent ALL Heriot-Watt campuses & study modes across the region and will have responsibility to grow student numbers to the UK campus in particular, and to work with the recruitment teams at the Dubai and Malaysia campuses to also support their growth in the region.

All of these markets have significant government and industry scholarship schemes that students can apply to. Heriot-Watt University's portfolio is particularly well suited to areas of priority for capacity building identified by the governments in these countries. The post holder will take a lead role in pursuing full engagement with these opportunities alongside encouraging self-funded students to study with us.

The post holder will receive the following benefits:

  • Tax free salary
  • Relocation costs of 1 month salary, paid on arrival (if applicable)
  • Medical insurance for post holder & 50% for spouse and any dependents under 18
  • Annual travel allowance, including return travel to country of origin following 1 years' service
  • Accommodation in Dubai for the first 4 weeks (if applicable)
  • Travel to/from the university to the above accommodation for the first 4 weeks (if applicable)

Employment is subject to approval of a work visa from UAE labor/Immigration authorities.
