Public Health Researcher – 2 years fixed term

A post is being established in the Research Engagement and Impact Team within the Public Health Institute at LJMU. The team focus on engaging with communities, commissioners, service providers and other stakeholders within local authorities, health and social care services, voluntary and third sector organisations to provide responsive support identify research priorities and deliver research which has direct application back into practice.

You will be responsible for working on the PALS project which will aim to test if it is possible to reduce the negative impacts of loneliness and social isolation by focussing on the support networks that people have around them. We will explore how people use their support network and how this might be improved using existing local community resources.

You will have a good first degree (or equivalent) in a health related, social science or other appropriate field together with experience and/or postgraduate qualification in public health or related field.  An understanding of public health, health inequalities/health and wellbeing agenda is essential.  The post will involve some travel to project areas, therefore the ability and willingness to travel is essential.
