“The department is a vibrant intellectual community with a strong grounding in analytic philosophy. However, it is also a conducive space to do interdisciplinary research and is open to other traditions of philosophy. Students benefit from uniquely tailored courses taught by distinguished faculty, weekly colloquia with speakers of international repute and graduate conferences where students get to showcase their work from time to time. All in all, it is a great place to be a budding philosopher.”

The interdisciplinary programs of the Department of Philosophy at Central European University (CEU) uniquely combine historical and analytic approaches to major areas of philosophical study, allowing for a fruitful dialogue between contemporary philosophy and its history. The department works in close collaboration with the Departments of Cognitive Science, Medieval Studies and Political Science.
