BUE is a private Egyptian university 35 kms east of Cairo delivering a British style of education, based on the UK QAA model and with a strong emphasis on research. It aims to be a leading research and teaching university in Egypt and the region, providing quality British Higher Education. Most programmes are validated by leading UK universities and the Egyptian Supreme Council. Successful graduates receive both a UK degree and a BUE degree. It has an undergraduate population of some 10,000 students in nine faculties, with plans for further development.

After the success of its initial decade, the University seeks to support its next phase of development by appointing additional Senior Assistant Registrars. The Senior Assistant Registrars report to the University Registrar. Their primary role is to form part of faculty teams to ensure that effective systems of academic administration are applied and embedded in departments and faculties. They thereby support implementation of the University’s Regulations and its Quality Assurance and Enhancement policies and practices in teaching and learning, including assessment.

The Senior Assistant Registrars also help capacity build expertise of UK academic administration and systems within BUE’s faculties. They are assigned to, and based in, one or more of the University’s faculties. They liaise closely with the relevant dean(s), and work alongside staff in departments.

Successful candidates will have ideally five years’ experience of academic administration in a UK university, or other UK Higher Education institution, and an in-depth understanding and experience of UK quality assurance arrangements. Candidates must possess excellent inter-personal skills, and have the ability to form effective working partnerships with administrative and academic colleagues in different disciplines having regard to cultural diversity. Experience of living and working in the Middle East will be an advantage

The post, which offers an attractive remuneration package, will commence on or before 1 September 2018, depending on the availability of the successful candidates. The post will remain open until filled.
