Laboratory Manager

The purpose of this post is to safely, efficiently and independently manage the day-to-day running of the laboratory facilities and complex equipment at the preterm birth research centre, and assist in the supervision, coordination and training of MD and PhD students undertaking preterm birth research on the Imperial College campus at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

The key responsibilities will be focused on areas such as General Laboratory Management, Teaching and Training, and Health & Safety.

Applicants should demonstrate how they meet the essential criteria as outlined in the person specification but in particular, possess a Life Sciences degree (BSc) or equivalent, have previous experience managing the day-to-day operation a Containment Level II research laboratory and be computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Office and order management systems. A NEBOSH or equivalent qualification is desirable.

This posts is fixed term for a period of 3 years and available immediately.
